My neighbor across the alley absolutely hates these and they grow like weeds around all of our properties. People seem to be either "Morning Glory" lovers or "Morning Glory" haters. Which are you? I once saw someone on a television gardening show intentionally plant "Morning Glory" in their front yard using a trellis. I think they have a nice aroma so I am not too concerned about their voracious growth around my property.

With this piece, I wanted to establish a very specific tonality and contrast. I began with the background and then used negative painting methods to establish the flower itself. This piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint and Daniel Smith watercolor paint. The original is 14"x10.25" in size and is painted on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. I really like the textures that this paper and paint combination provides.
